During hot foiling, heat & pressure is applied to the foil which is pressed against the medium & is supported by plate & cylinder. The adhesive layer is the gold foil or silver foil & this is activated by heat & pressure. The release layer of number plate foils melts and it attaches the machine hot foil to the respective medium. These number plates are used to decorate a wide range of products. It is used as an anti-counterfeiting approach. It is widely used for the finishing & packaging of products.
